Senior (Client) Project
My Synthesis (Client) Class (VCT 4670) was working with a client for a Semester. I had to use Visual Communication Problem Solving and Project Management to help solve a Client problem from my classroom and internship experience.
The client that I worked for from January 2021 to May 2021 was the Wood County Park District (WCPD). My client needed help taking photos and videos for their Facebook page from the various parks. As a result, they wanted engaging content to entice people to visit their local parks and appreciate nature.
You can learn more about the Wood County Park District's history and what they do with the link to their website down below.

Phase 1: Project Assessment
I conducted detailed research on Wood County Park District to understand my client's needs and expectations. In addition, understand my client's work and understand a brief history about them. Together, my client and I were able to discuss potential solutions on various projects for the highest potential success to reach our target market.
Phase 2: Cost Analysis
I created a cost analysis to effectively determine what resources and expenses are associated with each part of the project (photo, video, & social media). I broke down each project (photo, video, & social media) illustrate how long each part will take from Preproduction to Post Production to show the benefits of the projects. My client can also see if the benefits outweigh the costs.
Phase 4: Designing a Solution
Understanding my client's current assets ( font type, color, logo, social media, and more) by evaluating what improvements can be made. I explain how I can meet my client's goals and needs with my rationale and implementation to back up my ideas of solutions. Lastly, I provide my thinking process of a winter zen video project I work from storyboard to the final social media post.
Phase 3: Client Proposal
I explain how I can help serve Wood County Park District needs to help promote their local parks and appreciate nature. I can help convey my own project guidelines along with milestones and goals on each part of the project. Furthermore, illustrate my abilities and experiences to convey confidence that I am the right person to solve their problems.
Phase 5: Evaluation
In the end, I evaluated all the projects to measure if I reach my client’s goal or not. I created a short survey for people to fill out to see what social media strategies worked and what can be improved on in the future. My goal with the survey questions was to figure out a way of people's social media behaviors with what platforms they use the most, what time people use social media usually, what attracts them to a social media page, and much more.
Phase 6: Final Client Presentation
Overall, I presented what it was like working with the Wood County Park District throughout the whole semester to my client class (VCT 4670). I talked about what my client's problems were and presented my solutions on how I was going to solve my client’s needs. Additionally, I explained my creative thought process from preproduction (research & storyboard) to production (shooting) then post-production (social media posts & results) with each phase of the projects (photo, video, & social media).
Photography
My client (WCPD) during the winter wanted 2-3 final deliverable photos at three select locations to show off the different landscapes, wildlife, and ecosystem. The three locations were Black Swamp Preserve, Slippery Elm Trail, and Carter Historical Farms. One location was going to be a feature each week with the photo being posted around 5 pm in the evening on the WCPD Facebook page.
In the spring, my client wanted to cover two different program events to be used later to promote future events on their Facebook page. The two events I covered were the Hiking for Health and Spring Wildflower event programs. I posted each program event within a couple of days after the event around 5 pm.

Videography
My client (WCPD) during the winter also wanted 10-second video clips at three select locations to show off the different landscapes, wildlife, and ecosystem. The video was going to be filmed at the same location as the photos were going to be taken (listed above). One location was going to be a feature each week with the video being posted around 5 pm in the evening on the WCPD Facebook page.
In the spring, my client wanted to have one feature video of a program to be used for promotion for upcoming events. The event was a Geocaching event at Sawyer Quarry. My client was very pleased that the video gave an overview of the event and can be used by the client in the future.
