Graphic design infiltrates our daily lives to inspire, inform into action or manipulate behavior. This project encompasses several valuable and necessary aspects of graphic design. It's about research, data collection, observation, synthesis, and storytelling, which can inspire, inform or manipulate!
I had to tell a visual narrative through a collection of photographs. Distinguishing characteristics of the visual narrative include a persuasive story with a point of view, high-quality images (still or moving), subject matter with pressing social, environmental, or spiritual value, and an appeal (explicit or implicit) for transformation in attitudes and behaviors.
My inspiration for my collection of photos telling a narrative story was considering adopting a dog today from a local animal shelter to give them a new happy life with each of these dog calendars. Unfortunately, many dogs face cruel breeding facilities where dogs are confined to small, filthy spaces and receive little to no veterinary care. A person adopting a dog today gives the dog a second chance of a new life beyond the animal shelter and having a happier life.
